Hey there 👋
I'm Halil Lacevic, a PhD researcher and engineer currently working at the Centre for Compressor Technology in London. My academic background is rooted in electrical engineering and control systems, and my current focus is on high-fidelity modelling of a novel screw compressor design known as the Internally Geared Screw Machine (IGSM).
But I don’t stop at compressors. I build things—from mobile apps and 3D scanning software to IoT devices and embedded PCBs. This site is a curated collection of the stuff I’ve worked on: hardware, software, research, and random ideas that got too far to stop.
What this site is for
This portfolio showcases:
- 🌀 Research and simulation work from my PhD and industry collaborations
- ⚡ Embedded systems, PCB designs, and full-stack IoT products
- 📱 Native and cross-platform apps (Android/iOS/Web)
- 🎓 Teaching, presentations, and academic activity
- 🧪 Fun projects: AR apps, circuit analysers, interactive art tools, and more
Everything here is crafted with precision whether it’s C++ for embedded systems, Python for simulation, or hands-on work with electronics, hardware, and AI. I enjoy solving technical challenges across layers, from low-level firmware to full product systems.
What to Expect
This space is where I showcase the intersection of research, engineering, and practical innovation. You’ll find:
- High-performance simulations and modelling for compressors and electromechanical systems
- Smart product prototypes built from scratch—electronics, code, and enclosures
- Mobile and web apps for real-world use cases
- Thoughts on teaching, technical communication, and research life
- Occasional deep dives, tools, and side projects I’m experimenting with
Stay tuned
Thanks for stopping by. Check out the projects, browse the articles, or shoot me a message if you want to collaborate, chat, or debate why MATLAB is both terrible and amazing.
