I'm Halil, a PhD researcher in Compressor Technology at City St George's, University of London. My work focuses on simulation and modelling of internally geared screw compressors, where I blend my strong programming background with advanced mathematical modelling to push the boundaries of compressor design.

I hold both Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Electrical Engineering (specialising in Control Systems and Electronics) from the University of Sarajevo. Alongside my research, I teach as a Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) at City's Department of Engineering and Computer Science, contributing to modules such as Electronics, Functional Programming, AI, and Web Development.

I'm also involved in international conferences and have taken on roles such as chairing poster sessions and serving on review committees. To foster better communication skills among researchers, I initiated a monthly seminar where colleagues and I practise delivering technical presentations in an engaging and accessible way.

Here's a glimpse of what we're doing:

I also build software and hardware projects—from embedded systems and PCB design to mobile apps and AI tools, often collaborating with close friends on startup ideas. I’m always exploring ways to bring technical innovation closer to real users.

If you're working on something impactful, I'd love to hear about it. Let's connect!

Compressor Simulations

Development of high-performance numerical models for a novel internally geared screw machine (IGSM). This project focuses on rotor profiling, thermodynamic simulation, and performance evaluation—pushing the boundaries of efficiency in next-generation compressor technology.

Food Ordering Mobile App

A cross-platform native mobile app built with Swift (iOS) and Java (Android), designed for seamless food browsing, ordering, and secure in-app payments. Developed with real restaurant workflows in mind for smooth customer experiences.

Electrical Circuit Analyser

A C++/Qt desktop tool for analysing basic electronic circuits with resistors and power supplies. Built for students and engineers to visualise voltage drops, current flow, and circuit behaviour interactively.

3D Wound Scanner

An Android app using ARCore and Raw Depth API to capture and analyse chronic wounds in 3D. Automatically extracts wound depth, area, and colour metrics to support clinical assessment and track healing progress over time.

Polishing Car Wipe Dispenser

End-to-end development of an intelligent polishing wipe dispenser—from custom PCB and embedded firmware to integrated sensors, control logic, and real-time telemetry. Features remote administration, usage analytics, and full IoT connectivity for smart maintenance.

Polishing wipe dispenser interface

AR Birds app

An iOS ARKit-powered experience created for an interactive art show, where virtual birds are placed throughout the real environment. Each bird carries a unique quote that reveals itself when approached, inviting reflection and engagement. Visitors can capture photos with the birds and their quotes, blending digital poetry with physical presence.
